On Friday, the sky will be mostly cloudy, with some clearing during the day. Precipitation is expected at night in most of the country and during the day in certain areas, mainly along the coast — rain, sleet, and snow, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
A light to moderate southeast and south wind will blow, turning during the day to come from the south and southwest. In the evening, a moderate to moderately strong northwesterly wind is expected along the coast, with gusts reaching 15–17 m/s. During the night, air temperatures will drop to -2…+2°C, while during the day they will rise to +1…+6°C.
On Saturday, cloud cover will vary. At night, precipitation — sleet, rain, and in some places snow — will still be widespread, but during the day it will be very local and light. During the night and morning, fog will form in some areas, reducing visibility. A moderate to moderately strong southwesterly and westerly wind will prevail, while in Kurzeme at night the wind will come from the northwest. Along the coast, gusts will reach 15–19 m/s at night, and in some places in the first half of the night even 20–21 m/s. Night temperatures will drop to -2…+3°C, and during the day will rise to 0…+4°C,
with slightly warmer conditions along the coast — +4…+7°C.
On Sunday, sunshine will alternate with clouds, and only isolated, light precipitation is expected. A moderate to moderately strong southerly and southwesterly wind will blow, with gusts up to 15 m/s along the coast at night, but by late morning the wind will ease. In many places at night, temperatures will fall to 0…-5°C, and during the day will rise to +1…+6°C. Along much of the coast, temperatures will remain between +3…+8°C both day and night.
At the beginning of the new week, the sky will be mostly cloudy and precipitation will be unevenly distributed — some parts of Latvia will remain mostly dry, while others may see both rain and snow. At night in most of the country, temperatures will fall below 0°C, while during the day they will hover around 0°C, with warmer conditions along the coast. Due to fluctuating temperatures, driving conditions on Latvian roads will be difficult in some areas!
