Friday will be mostly cloudy, though skies will occasionally clear, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Overnight into Friday, light rain may occur in the eastern part of the country, but no precipitation is expected during the day. Winds will be light. Fog may form in some areas overnight and in the morning, significantly reducing visibility.
Nighttime temperatures will drop to +2…+7°C, with frost down to 0…-1°C expected in the southern regions. Coastal areas will be warmer, with the mercury not falling below +7…+12°C. During the day, air temperatures will rise to +13…+17°C.
Forecasters note that over the weekend clouds will mostly cover the skies, but sunshine will break through more frequently.
On Saturday, no precipitation is expected across Latvia, while on Sunday light rain may occur in the eastern regions from midnight onwards. Fog will also form in some places during the night and morning, reducing visibility. Winds will remain light, though by Sunday morning they will shift to the northeast and east, gradually strengthening.
At night, air temperatures will fall to +4…+9°C, slightly warmer along the coast at +9…+12°C. Daytime highs will reach +12…+17°C.
Meteorologists indicate that calm weather will continue into next week – with a mix of sun and clouds and no significant precipitation expected.
Nighttime temperatures will drop to +1…+5°C, with frost again likely in some regions, while coastal areas will remain milder at +10…+12°C. Daytime temperatures will stay above +10°C across the country, reaching up to +15°C in some places.
