Tuesday, like the past few days, will bring calm weather – although clouds will mix with sunshine, the day will remain dry, with light winds, and air temperatures rising to +20…+25°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Wednesday, from the early morning hours, clouds in western regions will bring rain, with the possibility of heavy showers and thunderstorms, which could be accompanied by stronger gusts of wind. For the most part, however, light to moderate easterly winds will prevail. Nighttime temperatures will range from +11…+16°C, while during the day they will rise to +21…+25°C.
On Thursday, the impact of a cyclone will be felt, as a broad precipitation zone will begin to move across the country from the southwest, slowly heading northeast, forecasters explain.
According to the centre, this will bring prolonged rainfall to western and central regions on Thursday, reaching the east by Friday. The weather will be not only rainy but also windy, with easterly and southeasterly winds gusting up to 15–19 m/s across the country. Still, conditions will remain relatively warm, with nighttime temperatures not dropping below +14…+19°C, while daytime readings will continue to exceed +20°C in many places.
By the end of the week and into the beginning of next week, several rain zones are expected to pass over Latvia, with cooler air moving in, making the weather feel more autumnal compared to the pleasant conditions at the start of the month.
