On Friday, skies will be mostly cloudy, though in places in the west they will clear. A band of precipitation will continue moving northeast—rain is expected at night in western and central districts, and during the day it will also reach the eastern districts, reports the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In the afternoon, brief showers are possible in the western part of the country, with some areas seeing thunderstorms and heavy downpours. A light to moderate southeast to south wind will blow, with gusts of 15–17 m/s overnight, easing by morning. Nighttime air temperatures will drop to +12…+16 °C; during the day they will rise to +14…+19 °C, and in some western areas will reach or exceed +20 °C.
The weekend will be cloudy, with only occasional sunny spells.
Rain is mostly expected in western districts, and both Saturday night and Sunday there is a chance of localized heavy thundershowers there. Fog will form in some areas late Friday night and in the early morning. Winds will be light, strengthening on Sunday and turning from the east and southeast. Nighttime temperatures will not fall below about +10 °C, while daytime temperatures will reach +18…+22 °C.
In the first half of the new work week, our weather will be governed by a large cyclone over Scandinavia, so there will be plenty of cloud bringing wetter conditions. Early in the week, winds will become gustier, easing again midweek, and a colder air mass will flow in from the west, making it cooler—daytime temperatures will no longer exceed +20 °C.
