Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the warmest days of the week, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly sunny and dry. Light winds will prevail, and nighttime air temperatures will drop to between +10°C and +15°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to between +25°C and +29°C, while coastal areas will be slightly cooler, ranging between +20°C and +24°C.
On Thursday, skies will be mostly clear in the morning, but cloud cover will increase in the afternoon. Localised short showers and thunderstorms are possible. In central and eastern regions, fog may form overnight, reducing visibility.
Winds from the south will be light to moderate, but will shift to southwesterly and westerly in the afternoon,
strengthening in gusts up to 15–17 m/s. Daytime temperatures will reach between +26°C and +31°C, with coastal areas in Kurzeme slightly cooler at around +22°C to +26°C.
According to meteorologists, Friday will bring partly cloudy skies, with the possibility of occasional light rain in some areas. Winds from the west and southwest will be moderate to moderately strong, gusting up to 15–19 m/s, but will gradually weaken during the day. Nighttime temperatures will fall to between +12°C and +15°C, and daytime temperatures will rise to +18°C to +21°C, with coastal regions slightly cooler at +15°C to +18°C.
Over the weekend, the heat will subside, and air temperatures will be milder – ranging from +16°C to +25°C. Sunshine is expected in many areas during the day, though isolated light showers are possible.
Meteorologists also warn that midday and afternoon ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels will be moderate to high. Therefore, people are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
