This week in Latvia – from warmth to frost

On Tuesday and Wednesday, cloud cover will increase, though there will still be plenty of sunny intervals, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Overnight into Tuesday, a precipitation zone will begin moving across the country from the west, bringing rain to most areas, with some places experiencing heavy thunderstorms. With light winds, fog and mist may form in some locations during the night and early morning. On Wednesday, rain is expected only in the eastern part of the country. Nighttime temperatures will drop to between +4°C and +8°C, remaining slightly warmer only in the southeastern regions.

Daytime temperatures will remain warm, reaching +13°C to +19°C, and on Tuesday, southeastern areas may see highs of up to +23°C. As usual, coastal regions will be a few degrees cooler.

In the second half of the week, the weather will gradually turn cooler, with occasional rainfall. Nights will become chillier, with frost expected. Over the weekend, in some areas, the temperature may dip below 0°C at night, and daytime highs will no longer exceed +10°C.
