Warm start to the week, followed by wind, cold, and snow over the weekend

On Monday, the western part of the country will see mostly cloudy skies, with some light rain in the morning, while the east will have a mix of sun and clouds with no precipitation expected. With light winds blowing, fog will thicken in some areas during the night, reducing visibility, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

During the night, temperatures will drop to between +2°C and +6°C, with some eastern areas approaching 0°C. The day, however, will be warm, with temperatures rising to +13°C to +18°C, though it will be slightly cooler in Kurzeme, where the temperature will range from +7°C to +12°C.

In the following days, the weather will remain dry with occasional sunshine. Fog will form in some areas overnight into Tuesday and in the early morning hours. Winds will be light, although by midday on Tuesday, northwesterly and westerly winds will strengthen. Nighttime temperatures will drop to between 0°C and +4°C, while daytime highs will reach +13°C to +18°C, with coastal areas staying cooler at around +6°C to +10°C.

On Friday and through the weekend, northwesterly and northerly winds will intensify, bringing a colder air mass into the country. Clouds will become more frequent, bringing precipitation, including light snow. Nighttime temperatures will fall below 0°C, and daytime temperatures will not exceed the freezing point.
