Wind to calm, the Sun to shine! Weather to improve over the weekend

Midweek will bring changing cloudiness. During the night and early Thursday morning, rain is expected in the eastern regions, but by midday, skies will gradually clear from the southwest across the entire country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Centre.

A southwest to west wind will blow moderately to fairly strongly across most of the country, with gusts reaching 15-18 m/s through Friday.

Both nighttime and daytime temperatures will range between +4°C to +8°C, with some areas warming up to +15°C during the day. However, on Friday night, temperatures in the southeastern regions could drop to 0°C.

Over the weekend, cloud cover will decrease, and significant precipitation is not expected. The wind will gradually subside, becoming light, which may lead to fog formation in some areas during the night. A warmer air mass will move into Latvia, and during daylight hours, temperatures in some places may reach close to +15°C.

At the start of next week, cloud cover will increase again, bringing rainfall across the country. Temperatures will gradually drop, and during nighttime hours, in some places, the temperatures may drop below 0°C.
