Estonian public media ERR reports that this week – with support from 26% of interviewed residents – Isamaa political party has become the most popular political power in the country.
However, in the parliamentary elections earlier in March, this party received only ten mandates. On top of that, this party is in the opposition. This impressive progress in gaining the sympathy of Estonian residents was accomplished in a span of a month, because in October the party’s rating was only 16%.
These are the latest results of Turu-uuringute AS centre. The results of the survey performed by their competitor – Norstat – are different. However, they still indicate some accomplishments by the party.
The winner of parliamentary elections [37 seats out of 101] – Prime Minister Kaja Kallas’ own Reform Party is down to third place with 18% supporters (23% in October). Opposition’s Conservative People’s Party of Estonia (EKRE) is second with 21% of support (19% in October).
The “Russian” Centre Party, which is influential in the capital city, which is also in the opposition in the Estonian parliament now has lower support as well – 11% (14% in October).
The Social Democratic Party’s number of supporters remains unchanged (10%). Eesti 200 party, on the other hand, is becoming less popular among residents: 8% support in October and 5% now.
The traditional public opinion poll in Estonia shows:
the general support of coalition parties went down to 33% in November,
when compared to 41% last month. In November opposition parties had 58% of respondents at their backs (49% in October). In November the public opinion survey was carried out between the 26th of October and the 6th of November. In total 899 Estonian residents aged 18 years and older were interviewed.
