The board has decided to ask the government to allocate an additional 140 million euros to help finance the healthcare sector’s base functions.

On top of that, LVSADA plans to ask the government to provide 310 million euros next year.
Multiple organisations representing patients and medical workers in Latvia had previously presented various governments similar requests. They had also sent open letters to various high-ranking officials, asking them to fulfil their promises given in relation to funding for the country’s healthcare sector.

The organisation invites Saeima and government representatives to immediately start looking for solutions

to ensure this year’s healthcare costs in the state budget reach 12% of the budget’s total expenditures.
