Although air temperature reached +20° C earlier this week in Latvia, meteorologists say that as warm masses of air move farther away from Latvia, air temperature will gradually go down in the next seven days.
This Friday night there will be a volatile amount of clouds. More clouds will appear during the day, and eastern parts of the country will experience rain every now and then. The wind will be slow to moderate and will blow from the south-west and west. At night and later during the day wind speed may reach 15 m/sec in many places in Latvia.
Air temperature at nigh will drop as far as +5° C… +9° C, whereas maximal daytime air temperature is expected at +10° C… +16° C, according to Latvian State, Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Saturday, 14 May, weather will be mostly cloudy. On Sunday clouds will start dispersing, allowing the sun to shine.
Although western parts of Latvia may experience rain on Saturday, the volume of precipitation will reduce on Sunday, as only short showers are expected. The wind will be slow to moderate on both days. The wind is expected to be strong in Vidzeme. Minimal air temperature at night will drop to +3° C… +8° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +9° C… +16° C.
According to current forecasts, some short-term rain is expected in Latvia at the start of next week. However, an anticyclone will approach Latvia from the north around the middle of the week. At night air temperature will drop as far as +2° C… +7° C. At the start of the week, daytime air temperature will reach +8° C… +14° C and in the middle of the week air temperature will start becoming warmer, reaching +10° C… +18° C.
