Windy and rainy, and the last dose of warmth at the weekend

On Thursday night, mainly in the western and central regions, rain is expected, with locally heavy downpours and possibly thunderstorms, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

During the day, several rain clouds will cross the country. Winds from the southwest and west will be light to moderate, reaching gusts of up to 15 m/s along the sea coast in the evening. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +9…+13°C, remaining a bit warmer along the coast, while daytime temperatures will rise to +15…+19°C.

On Friday, skies will be cloudy, but will clear from time to time. Short periods of rain are expected in many places, and isolated thunderstorms are also possible. Light to moderate southwest and west winds will blow, with gusts reaching 15–17 m/s along the coast in the evening.

Temperatures will climb to +16…+20°C.

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be both sun and clouds, with rain expected in parts of the country, though mostly light. On Saturday, light to moderate southwest and west winds will still gust up to 15–16 m/s, while on Sunday winds will calm down. Nighttime minimum temperatures will be between +12…+17°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +18…+23°C.

At the start of next week, rain is still expected. On Monday, temperatures will remain similar to the weekend, but it will become cooler on Tuesday. From Wednesday onward, weather will be influenced by an anticyclone, bringing drier and cooler conditions. On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, temperatures will drop to +6…+12°C, while daytime highs will be between +11…+14°C. In the following days, it will gradually get colder, with frost possible during the chilliest nights.
