Wind to become slower and precipitation intensity to go down in Latvia

On Wednesday, the 20th of March, as atmospheric pressure goes up, the wind will become slower and precipitation intensity will go down – they will take the form of mostly rain. Nevertheless, some eastern areas will experience snow and wet snow, as reported by Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
With slow wind speed there will be fog in some areas at night and morning hours. Visibility will suffer. Air temperature at night will drop to +1° C… -2° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +2° C… +7° C.
Meteorologists mention that weather on Thursday and Friday will remain similar – the sky will be covered in clouds and rain will fall in many parts of the country. Wind speed will be slow to moderate. Air temperature will gradually increase, reaching +4° C… +8° C. Air temperature at night will drop below 0° C only at times.
At the end of the week warmer masses of air will flow to the country. Weather will be dictated by cyclone activity. This means air temperature will gradually go up. Weather will also become windier and rainier. Air temperature will no longer drop below 0° C, and daytime air temperature will once again reach +10° C.
Nevertheless, in the last week of March air temperature may drop below 0° C again.
