On Friday, the sky will be mostly cloudy, although cloud cover will occasionally break in the northwestern regions of Latvia during the day, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Intermittent rain is expected.
During the night, a light to moderate southwesterly to westerly wind will blow, becoming moderate to fairly strong along the coast, with gusts reaching 15–19 m/s and up to 20 m/s along the sea coast around midnight. In the second half of the night, the wind will gradually shift from the northwest and north, easing by morning. During the day, winds will be light. Air temperature at night will drop to +3…+8°C, rising to +6…+10°C during the day.
Saturday will bring a mix of sun and clouds. Overnight and in the morning, precipitation is expected in some places — mainly wet snow and rain. Icy patches may form on some road sections!
A light to moderate westerly and northwesterly wind will blow, while along the coast it will be moderate to rather strong, with gusts of 15–19 m/s. In the afternoon, the wind will shift from the southwest and west. Nighttime temperatures will fall to -1…+2°C, while coastal areas will be slightly warmer at +2…+5°C.
During the day, temperatures will reach +1…+6°C.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with occasional clearing. During the day, light rain and wet snow are expected in some areas, mainly along the coast. Localised ice formation is possible on roads.
A light to moderate southwesterly to southerly wind will blow, gradually shifting from the south and southeast during the day. Gusts along the coast will reach 15–17 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will fall to +1…-4°C, with coastal areas remaining slightly milder. During the day, temperatures will rise to +1…+5°C, and in coastal Kurzeme to +5…+7°C.
At the start of next week, weather conditions will continue to be shaped by cyclone activity. Cloudy skies will dominate, and precipitation — mainly rain and wet snow — is expected across most of the country. In places, the wind will remain gusty.
At night, temperatures will fall below 0°C in many areas, while coastal regions will stay a few degrees warmer. In the first half of the week, daytime temperatures will remain above zero, but in the second half — especially in the east — they are not expected to exceed 0°C.
