On Friday, Latvia will experience partly cloudy skies, with occasional short-term rain and thunderstorms expected in parts of the southern regions. Overnight, some areas may see heavy rain showers, possibly accompanied by hail, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In the early morning hours, fog will form in some regions, reducing visibility to 100–500 meters, so drivers and road users are advised to exercise caution. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the northeast and east. Nighttime temperatures will remain mild at +15 to +19°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +24 to +29°C, making for a warm and summery day.
On Saturday, variable cloud cover is expected, with occasional short showers in the southern part of the country.
In the afternoon, localized heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely. Winds will remain light to moderate from the northeast and north. Temperatures will range from +15 to +19°C at night and reach +22 to +27°C during the day.
On Sunday, the skies will be mostly cloudy, with occasional clear spells. Rain is expected overnight in the eastern regions and will spread to most parts of the country during the day. Winds will continue from the northeast and north, remaining light to moderate. Nighttime temperatures will be +17 to +19°C, while daytime highs will range from +20 to +25°C.
At the beginning of the new workweek, similar weather will continue – alternating sunshine and clouds, with rain expected daily in at least some parts of Latvia. Nighttime temperatures will stay above +15°C, and during the day, temperatures may rise to +26°C.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre warns that around midday and in the afternoon, UV radiation levels will be moderate to high. Meteorologists advise avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight!
