As cyclone activity continues in Latvia, the sky will be covered in clouds in the middle of the week. On Wednesday, the 30th of October, rain will come to most of the country, as reported by Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Fog will appear at night and in morning hours. The wind will gradually change direction from the south to west and north-west. Win speed will go up, reaching 15-17 m/sec along the coast. At night, air temperature will drop to +6° C… +11° C (+1° C… +6° C in eastern parts of Latvia). Daytime air temperature will reach +9° C… +12° C.
In the second half of the week, weather will become less pleasant due to the influence of the cyclone – days will become rainy and wind speed will go up – up to 15-19 m/sec in most of the country and 20-24 m/sec along the coast.
It is possible Latvia may see first snow this weekend. It is likely it will be wet snow. It will not last for very long and will melt quickly. Nevertheless, motorists and other road traffic participants should be especially careful, because on Sunday night air temperature will drop below 0° C. This means roads may become iced over and slippery!
