Weather to deteriorate – precipitation expected across Latvia

On Thursday and Friday, clouds will at times cover the sun. Only on Friday afternoon is light rain and wet snow expected in some western and central regions, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Winds will be light, and fog will continue to form in many areas during the night and morning hours. During the dark hours of the day, temperatures will drop slightly below zero, ranging from +1 to -4°C, while daytime temperatures in most of the country will remain at +9 to +14°C. It will be a few degrees cooler along the coast.

Over the weekend, cloudy weather is expected, with rain and wet snow in most parts of the country. Fog will thicken during the night and morning hours.

Winds will remain light but will strengthen in coastal areas from the southwest and south,

with gusts reaching up to 15 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will drop to -2 to +4°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to around +10°C.

At the beginning of next week, clouds will continue to bring precipitation over a wider area, and westerly winds are expected to become gustier on Monday and Tuesday. Nighttime temperatures will hardly fall below 0°C, while daytime temperatures will remain similar to those in the first days of April.
