Weather to be warm and calm in Latvia this week; some rain expected

Weather will remain influenced by an anticyclone this week, according to Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre. In the first half of the week meteorologists predict cloudy weather with moments of rain.
However, from the middle of the week onward the amount of clouds will reduce and the sun will shine again. The wind will be slow and air temperature during the day will reach +10° C… +15° C. At night air temperature will not go lower than 0° C… +5° C.
On Monday, the 17th of April, weather will be cloudy. Rain is expected in central regions of the country. During the day air temperature will reach +6° C… +11° C (+12° C… +13° C in south-eastern areas).
Cloudy weather will remain on Tuesday. Some rain is expected at times. However, during the day clouds will start dispersing. The sun will shine in western areas. At night and in morning hours visibility will suffer due to fog. The wind will be slow to moderate and will blow from the north and north-east. At night air temperature will drop to +3° C… +6° C, whereas during the day air temperature will reach +9° C… +14° C (+7° C… +9° C along the coast in Kurzeme).

Anticyclone activity will increase during the week.

It will dictate weather conditions, causing the sky to clear in most of the country. No major precipitation is expected. Only south-eastern territories may experience some rain on Wednesday, the 19th of April. Northern and north-eastern wind will be slow to moderate. On Wednesday wind speed may reach 15-16 m/sec. At night air temperature will be 0° C… +5° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +10° C… +15° C.
Weather conditions will remain similar at the end of the week. Days will pass without major precipitation. Wind speed will remain slow. Current forecasts suggest a new cyclone will approach from the west. Rain is expected as well. Night-time air temperature will not drop below +2° C… +6° C, whereas daytime air temperature will stay at +10° C… +16° C.
