On the night to Wednesday, a precipitation zone will start moving across the country from the northwest, bringing rain to most of the territory. In some areas, heavy downpours and possible thunderstorms are expected, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The westerly wind will shift to the northwest and north during the night, blowing lightly to moderately, but in places gusts may reach up to 15 m/s during thunderstorms. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +9…+14°C, while daytime temperatures will not exceed +15…+19°C.
On Thursday and Friday, sunshine will alternate with clouds,
which in some places will bring rain, while on Friday rain is expected over a wider area. With light winds, fog will form in some regions overnight on Thursday, reducing visibility. The night to Thursday will be cool, only +5…+10°C, while the night to Friday will bring +7…+10°C, with slightly milder conditions along the coast. During the daytime, air temperatures will rise to +15…+20°C.
Over the weekend, new cyclones will continue to determine the weather, with rain clouds occasionally appearing across almost the entire country. Nights will remain chilly, with temperatures dropping to +7…+11°C in places, while daytime temperatures will not exceed +20°C. No significant changes are expected at the beginning of next week either.
