Weather forecast for the week in Latvia

This week weather in Latvia will be volatile: some days will be warm, some will be rainy and some will be windy. There is still a possibility of first snow in Latvia this week, according to Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In the first half of the week some short-term rain is expected. On Monday the wind will blow from the west and north-west. On Tuesday the wind will calm down and will gradually change direction to the south. Air temperature at night will be -1° C… +3° C. With clear sky air temperature may drop even further.
Nights will be slightly warmer along the coast, where air temperature will reach +8° C.
On Monday, 18 October, air temperature will reach +7° C… +11° C. On Tuesday air temperature is expected to be +4 C… +9 C.
In the middle of the week warmer masses of air will flow to the country. However, weather will be rainy and windy as well. A wide precipitation zone will reach Latvia from the west on Wednesday, 19 October. This means it will rain in many parts of the country.
Wind speed will increase along the coast at night. Air temperature will reach +9° C… +15° C during the day.
At the end of the week weather in Latvia will be particularly windy. The wind will blow from the south-west and south. The wind will be the strongest on Thursday and the night to Friday.
According to current forecasts, wind speed along the coast may reach 20-25 m/sec, whereas in other parts of the country wind speed will be at 17-22 m/sec. Air temperature at night will not drop below +7° C… +14° C. Daytime air temperature will reach +15° C. On Friday air temperature will stay at +8° C… +12° C.
Meteorologists predict weather will remain windy on the weekend. Nights will remain cold. Air temperature will drop below +5° C at night and stay at +3° C… +8° C. Precipitation is expected in many areas. There is also a possibility of wet snow.
