Weather conditions on Tuesday, the 21st of January, will be dictated by an anticyclone and the day will be calm and cloudy. Drizzling rain and wet snow are expected parts of the country, as reported by Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Freezing rain is expected in some areas in the afternoon. This means roads may become slippery in some regions! The wind will be slow and will blow from the east and south-east. Air temperature at night and during the day will stay within -2° C… +3° C.
On Wednesday the Thursday the sky will remain cloudy with local precipitation – mostly snow, wet snow (rain along the coast). With wind speed remaining slow, fog will appear in parts of Latvia on Wednesday, worsening visibility to 200-500 m. Air temperature at night will drop to -2° C… +3° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach 0° C… +4° C.
In areas where air temperature drops to negatives, roads in some areas may become slippery.
Cyclone activity will go up at the end of the week. This means more precipitation. Wind speed will go up and become strong. Weather will remain relatively warm. Air temperature will drop below 0° C only at night.
