Warm weather continues – up to +27 degrees, but with fog and thunderstorm risk

On Friday, skies will be partly cloudy, with brief showers expected only in some eastern parts of the country. In the morning, patches of fog and mist will linger. The sun will warm the air to +23…+27°C, while along the Gulf of Riga coast in Kurzeme the maximum temperature will be +20…+22°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Saturday and Sunday, sunshine will alternate with clouds. Some areas will see short periods of rain, but in the western part of the country heavy showers and thunderstorms are also possible. A light wind will prevail, allowing fog to thicken at night in some locations. Nighttime air temperatures will drop to +13…+18°C, while during the day it will rise to +23…+26°C, slightly cooler along the coast.

At the start of next week, scattered showers are expected, though more widespread rainfall and slightly stronger gusts of wind are forecast only in the second half of the week. Temperatures, however, will remain similar: nights will stay no cooler than +12°C, and during the day the thermometer will climb above +20°C almost everywhere in the country.
