On the 23rd of August, a plane Embraer Legacy 600 reportedly carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin, Wagner group leader, was shot down. This has prompted Wagner fighters to initiate convoys from Belarus to Russia, reports Ukrainska Pravda.
Reports suggest Belarusian authorities are obstructing their departure. Concurrently, mobile internet issues were noted near the Vagner camp in Tsela village, as per Belaruski Hajun.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has not commented on Yevgeny Prigozhin’s reported death, according to the BBC.
During an event in the Kursk region commemorating a WWII battle, Putin honoured Russians killed in a “special military operation” in Ukraine but didn’t mention Wagner group or Prigozhin.
The Kremlin hasn’t confirmed Prigozhin’s death.
Putin is possibly waiting for an official account of the plane crash events.
