On Wednesday, the 30th of August, a storm in Jekabpils knocked over trees, damaged roofs of buildings and gravel roads, as LETA was informed by representative of the local municipal administration Aiga Sleže.
The storm caused the most damage in Viesīte, as well as Rite, Elkšņi and Sauka parishes in Jekabpils.

The powerful storm knocked over trees and broke tree branches. Large hail damaged parked cars. Roofs of buildings were damaged as well. Gravel roads were washed over by heavy rainfall in some areas.

As reported by the head of Viesīte parish Sanita Lūse, residents have yet to turn to the local administration for assistance. Territories are being surveyed for damages. More information will be announced later, the municipality reports.
