VIDEO | Polish border guards find cocaine worth 15 million US dollars on Baltic seabed

Polish border guards carrying out operations to protect critical infrastructure found more than 100 kg of cocaine at the bottom of the Baltic Sea with a black-market value of up to 60 million zlotys (15 million US dollars), the border guard said on Tuesday, the 18th of February, according to Reuters.
Seven people were detained in the case, the border guard said in a statement. The drugs were found on the seabed in the Gulf of Gdańsk area in northern Poland.

The location of the alleged perpetrators was subsequently investigated and led to the discovery of a further significant quantity of drugs.
If convicted, the detainees face up to 20 years in prison, authorities said.
The Baltic Sea states are on high alert to prevent any incidents involving underwater critical infrastructure and NATO has announced that it will reinforce its presence in the region following several incidents of suspicious damage to such infrastructure.
