VIDEO | Amid rumours that Chechen leader Kadyrov is seriously ill or dead, a video appears on his social media account

Kremlin-controlled Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov broke a two-week silence on social media on Sunday, the 17th of September, amid rumours of serious illness or even death, citing various sources reported Ukrainska Pravda.
Videos released on Sunday show Kadyrov taking a walk. One of the videos shows a building similar to his residence in Grozny. Kadyrov’s message in the video advised people to step away from lies online,

go for a walk and put their thoughts in order,

and he also mentioned that he listens to the Quran and has already walked several kilometres.

According to an Agentstvo analysis, for more than two weeks prior to these recordings, no videos in which the time of the filming could be recorded had appeared on his accounts or on the Russian-controlled state channel of the Chechen Republic. According to the meteorological services Yandex.Pogoda and Gismeteo, it was about 16 degrees Celsius with rain in Grozny on Sunday.
Rumours of Ramzan Kadyrov’s deteriorating health emerged on the evening of the 14th of September and

he was reported to be in a coma.

Andrii Yusov, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence Service, also claimed on 15th of September that Kadyrov was in a critical condition. Shortly afterwards, a ten-second video of Kadyrov and his family was posted on the social media accounts of himself and his assistant Umar Daudov, with an undetermined date of filming.
After the video appeared on Kadyrov’s Telegram channel on Sunday, Chechen human rights activist Abubakar Yangulbayev announced that Kadyrov was dead, but as Meduza reported, he did not provide any evidence or sources for this information.
