Ukrainians drive Russian forces out of some positions in Bakhmut

Ukrainian general reported that the Ukrainians have driven the occupiers from some of their positions in Bakhmut, and the White House reports that more than 20,000 Russians have fallen in Ukraine since December, writes Reuters.
Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Ukrainian ground forces commander, stated in a Telegram statement that the situation in Bakhmut is still difficult: “At the same time, in certain parts of the city, the enemy was counterattacked by our units and left some positions.”
The US White House reported on Monday, the 1st of May, that

Russia has used up its military supplies and its army has suffered significant losses.

In the last five months, about 100,000 soldiers have been killed or injured.
Of the 20,000 fallen, half were from Yevgeniy Prigozhin’s mercenary group, the Wagner group. On the 1st of May, Prigozhin informed in Telegram that his fighters need about 300 tons of artillery shells every day, but only a third of the amount is being delivered instead.
Although Russian forces control a large part of Bakhmut, Ukraine informed on the 30th of April that it can still supply its soldiers with food, ammunition, and medicine. Kyiv is expected to launch a counterattack in the near future.
