The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said this in a post on the Telegram messenger that law enforcers registered 31 059 crimes of aggression and war crimes committed by Russia, informs Ukrainian media The Kyiv Independent.
29 877 crimes are related to violations of the laws and customs of war, 73 related to planning, preparing or launching and waging a war of aggression, 30 related to war propaganda, and 1 079 other crimes.
Ukraine’s State Service for Ethnic Affairs and Freedom of Conscience reports on Wednesday, 31 August, that at least 205 religious buildings have been destroyed or partially damaged since Russia’s full–scale invasion began.
Among the most affected regions are Donetsk, Luhansk, Kyiv and Kharkiv.
Meanwhile Russia to destroy archaeological site dating back to 5 000 BC in occupied Mariupol. Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, reports that Russian occupation authorities have granted permission for construction at the location, which received protection from the Mariupol City Council in 2021 due to its historical significance.
While President of the European Investment Bank Werner Hoyer spoke at forum in Prague and urged states to assist in the reconstruction of Ukraine as soon as possible, instead of waiting for the end of Russia’s invasion.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories has also reported on Wednesday, 31 August that Russia has created specific centers to assimilate Ukrainians into Russian society. Many Ukrainian civilians, including over 7 000 children, had been deported against their will to locations across Russia.
