A terror attack in Kyiv has been prevented by catching the suspect in the act according to the Ukrainian Security Service, as quoted by the Ukrinform news agency.
The news agency reported on Thursday, February 10, that the perpetrator had been detained as he attempted to set on fire a vehicle parked outside a building with the office of a non-profit organisation in Kyiv.

According to the investigation, the suspect had been recruited through an anonymous group on Telegram and then used Russian e-mail services, banned in Ukraine, to receive instructions and report.
The security agency assumed that he had been instructed by a foreign government to help destabilise the political situation in Ukraine and compromise the country in the eyes of the EU and Belarus citizens. The detained person has been found to have received money from his supervisors on his bank card and had purchased a vehicle, flammable materials, and fireworks to prepare for the prevented terror attack, Ukrinform reports.
