During the Orthodox Easter, 130 Ukrainian soldiers who had been held as prisoners of war, returned home, writes Reuters.
The Ukrainian and Russian armies regularly exchange prisoners of war, and a large exchange took place on Sunday, the 16th of April, when the Orthodox Church celebrates Easter. Andriy Yermak, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, wrote on Telegram that 130 Ukrainians are returning home, and the exchange has been going on for several days.
It is not known how many Russian soldiers have been brought back. Yermak pointed out that
the Ukrainians who have returned home are soldiers, border guards, and members of the national guard, as well as sailors.
This was the second major exchange of prisoners of war in a week. On Monday, the 10th of April, 106 Russians were exchanged for 100 Ukrainians. Ukraine has also informed that the remains of 82 soldiers have been recovered from the territory controlled by Russia.
