This week – from rain and fog to warm and sunny days

On Monday, the sun will alternate with clouds, and short periods of rain are expected in some areas. During the night, isolated thunderstorms are also possible. A light to moderate westerly wind will blow. At night, the air will cool to +11…+15°C, while along the coast it will be slightly warmer – around +15…+18°C. During the day, air temperatures will not exceed +20…+24°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the sky will be partly cloudy, with occasional short showers. There is a chance that on Tuesday, some eastern areas will also hear thunder. These days will be dominated by light winds, and for this reason, fog may form in some places at night and in the early morning hours, which could reduce visibility.

During the night, the thermometer will drop to +11…+14°C, with the coast being a degree or so warmer.

Daytime temperatures will be similar to previous days.

The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre notes that starting from Thursday, as warmer air flows into the country, the weather will become more summery – in many places, daytime temperatures will rise to +22…+27°C. There will also be fewer clouds in the sky, and sunny weather will be more frequent. A light wind will continue to dominate. The weather during the weekend will not change significantly, except on Saturday, when rain clouds will again appear over a larger area, accompanied by thunderstorms.
