Thursday is expected to be cloudy. Rain will fall at times, but in the western part of the country, significant precipitation is not expected during the second half of the day. A light to moderate southeast wind will blow.
During the night, the air temperature will drop to between +6°C and +8°C, while in the eastern regions it will be slightly colder — between +3°C and +6°C. During the day, temperatures will range from +5°C to +10°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Friday will be cloudy as well, though in some western and central regions the skies may clear at times. Occasional rain is expected, mainly in the eastern part of the country. During the night and morning, fog will form in some areas, significantly reducing visibility. A light to moderate southeast or east wind will blow, reaching up to 14 m/s in gusts along parts of the Kurzeme coast during the day. Overnight temperatures will drop to between +5°C and +9°C,
while daytime temperatures will rise to between +11°C and +15°C.
Over the weekend, weather conditions will continue to be influenced by the cyclone — during the night to Saturday, a broad precipitation zone will move over Latvia from the southwest, bringing rain to most of the country. On Saturday, a light to moderate southeast or east wind will shift during the day to blow from the south and southwest. Nighttime air temperatures will rise a few degrees higher than in previous days, while daytime temperatures in many places will range between +8°C and +13°C, though it will be slightly cooler in the east.
At the beginning of the new week, rain clouds will still prevail over much of the country. Both night and daytime temperatures will drop by a few degrees, and gusty winds are expected in some areas along the Kurzeme coast.
