Sun, rain, and frost all together – what the new week will bring

On Monday night, partly cloudy skies are expected, but during the day clouds will increase. As the influence of the anticyclone weakens, rain is expected in the northern part of the country, and some areas may even see wet snow overnight. A light to moderate southwesterly to southerly wind will blow, with gusts reaching up to 15 m/s, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Overnight into Monday, widespread frost is expected, with temperatures ranging from 0 to -3 degrees Celsius, while in coastal areas the minimum temperature will be between +1 and +6 degrees. During the day, temperatures will stay within the range of +8 to +13 degrees.

Throughout the week, the weather will be influenced by several cyclones, resulting in mostly cloudy skies as multiple precipitation zones will pass over the country, bringing rain. However, there will be moments when the sun will break through the clouds. A prevailing westerly wind will dominate, occasionally becoming gusty. During the day, air temperatures will generally reach around +10 degrees, and in some areas may rise up to +15 degrees, but occasional night frosts are still possible.

Current forecasts suggest that by the end of the week, it will become slightly cooler, while the weather will remain rainy.
