Spring is approaching! Temperatures may reach +15°C by the end of the week

On Wednesday, the sky across Latvia will be covered with clouds bringing precipitation. Overnight, rain is expected in the eastern regions, with occasional sleet in some areas. During the day, rain will spread across most of the country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Center.

On Wednesday night into Thursday, rain will persist in the eastern regions, but by midday, the sky will gradually clear from the southwest across the country. A west to southwest wind will blow moderately to fairly strong across most of Latvia until Friday, with gusts reaching 15-18 m/s, and up to 20 m/s along the Kurzeme coast. Both nighttime and daytime temperatures will range between +4°C and +7°C, except in the northeastern regions on Wednesday night, where the air temperature may drop to 0°C. On Thursday, temperatures will continue to rise, reaching +7°C to +12°C during the day.

By the weekend, there will be fewer clouds in the sky, and significant precipitation is not expected. The wind will gradually calm down, blowing lightly, which may lead to fog forming in some areas during certain nights. Warmer air masses will move into Latvia, and during daylight hours, temperatures may rise close to +15°C in some places.

At the beginning of next week, cloud cover will increase again, bringing precipitation. Temperatures will gradually drop, and during nighttime hours in some areas, the thermometer may dip below 0°C.
