Songs will be played, buses will roll – additional festival routes planned in Riga

To facilitate access to the venues of the XIII Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival in Riga, “Rīgas satiksme” will organize additional public transport trips to and from the main event locations during the festival.

Extra trips will be provided based on the timing of events and the expected number of participants and visitors each day, according to “Rīgas satiksme”.

From the 8th of July to the 10th of July, additional morning trips will be arranged on trolleybus route No. 5 towards Daugava Stadium to align with the start of rehearsals. After rehearsals, additional services will operate on the same route and, if necessary, on other routes that stop at the Daugava Stadium stop on Deglava Street.

Before and after the general rehearsal and concerts at Daugava Stadium, extra trips will be provided on trolleybus routes 5, 11, and 22, as well as bus routes 3, 6, and 52. “Rīgas satiksme” encourages planning your arrival in advance and recommends using trolleybus route 11, which will see significantly improved service. This route will replace the special trolleybus route to Pērnavas Street used in previous years. Route 11 will also operate on Saturday, the 12th of July.

From the 9th of July to the 11th of July, special morning trips on trolleybus route No. 3 will be operated to Mežaparks, and

in the evenings, additional trips will run from the Mežaparks terminus near Gātartas Street.

During rehearsal days, there will also be extra trips on tram route 11 and bus route 48.

Before and after the general rehearsal and the final concert in Mežaparks, additional trips will run on tram route 11, trolleybus route 3, and bus routes 9 and 48.

Considering the large number of participants and public interest in attending the festival parade, on the morning of the 13th of July, additional trips will begin from 7.00 in the morning on several routes from major Riga neighborhoods. Special bus route 24 trips will also operate from the city center to the Ostas prospekts stop, improving access from the Skanste area to the Mežaparks Grand Stage after the parade.

During the parade, public transport routes that intersect the parade path will experience service changes.

On the nights from Saturday to Sunday and Sunday to Monday, public transport will operate on main routes to major city neighborhoods until 1.00 in the morning, ensuring people can return home after the festival’s final concert. Additionally, night service will be available after the closing concert—from the night of Sunday, the 13th of July to Monday, the 14th of July.

From the 8th of July to the 13th of July, as additional trips are arranged for the School Youth Song and Dance Festival, some regular public transport services to and from parks or depots will be suspended, as vehicles will be redirected to transport participants and event attendees.
