In the morning on Tuesday, the 28th of November, it continued snowing in most of Latvia: mostly snow. In western and central regions it snowed heavily this morning, according to meteorological information.
The snow was the deepest at five o’clock in the morning in Alūksne, Dagda, Krāslava’s Piedruja and Līvāni’s Rožupe (20-23 cm). The biggest increase of the layer of snow was observed in Alūksne (from 14 to 23 cm), Ogresgala (from 7 to 15 cm), in Rēzekne (from 5 to 15 cm) and the centre of Riga (from 3 to 9 cm).
The sky is mostly overcast. The wind blows from the west and north, reaching a speed of up to 16 m/sec along the coast.
Air temperature stays at -2° C… -7° C (-1° C… +1° C in Kurzeme). The lowest air temperature at night was observed in Rucava (-10° C).
Riga had a snowy morning. The wind blew from the north, reaching a speed of 4 m/sec. In Daugavgrīva wind speed reached 11 m/sec and air temperature -2° C… -5° C.
Air temperature on Monday, according to data from Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, ranged between -0.4° C in Pāvilosta and -5.4° C in Zosēni.
