Snow and ice worsen driving conditions in most of Latvia

The snow and ice made driving conditions difficult in nearly all of Latvia in the morning on Monday, the 4th of December. The only two exceptions are the northern parts of Vidzeme and the general area around Jelgava, as reported by Latvian State Roads (LVC).
Slippery sections of roads are being coated with anti-slip coating. To improve driving conditions, a total of 112 winter service units have been deployed on roads.
LVC stresses that motorists should be especially careful when on the road. They are advised to pick appropriate driving speed and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
Residents can report problems with driving conditions and other road-related issues to LCV using the free hotline 8000 5555.
