Smart-ID to be useful for state e-services in Latvia

SK ID Solutions reports that in May the company concluded multiple years-long procedures to ensure Smart-ID receives local qualified means of identification for authentication in accordance with legislation of the Republic of Latvia.
This means that in addition to compliance with the international EU trust services eIDAS Regulation, Smart ID is also recognised in Latvia.

This will create the opportunity to continue using this software to receive state e-services in Latvia.

SK ID Solutions will offer state institutions Smart-ID solution free of charge. To ensure Smart-ID system has access to up-to-date information and data about users and their accounts, the company has completed the integration process with the Population Register managed by the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs. As a result of this, developers of this solution will have access to up-to-date information about users.
According to SK ID Solutions Latvia manager Sanita Meijere, more than a million people in this country use this e-tool.
