Russian forces launch bloody attacks in southern and northern Ukraine

Russian forces carried out deadly attacks on Wednesday, the 10th of April, on targets in southern and northern Ukraine, in the Kharkiv and Odesa regions, killing seven people and wounding many others, citing officials, reports Reuters.
In the southern Odessa region, a rocket attack in the early evening hours killed four people, including a ten-year-old girl, and wounded 14 others, regional governor Oleh Kiper said. On Telegram, Kipper said that four of the wounded were in serious condition and doctors were fighting for their lives. One man had his legs amputated as a result of the attack.
In the north-eastern Kharkiv region, which has faced intense Russian attacks on towns and energy facilities, a 14-year-old girl and two women were killed in an attack on a pharmacy in the village of Lyptsi, according to the region’s governor, Oleh Synehubov. Two people were injured and rescuers were searching through the rubble for more victims.
In the north-eastern Ukrainian village of Vovchansk, two cruise missiles hit a clinic, injuring one person, according to Sinehubov. In addition, Russian troops dropped an explosive on a bus, injuring one person, according to the Ministry of the Interior.

On the Russian side of the border, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoyt, said a Ukrainian drone attack on a car killed three people, two of them children.
Missiles believed to be Iskander-M ballistic missiles were fired at Odessa between 18:00 and 18:30, also damaging transport infrastructure.

“People in cars and walking home at the end of the working day were the victims of a double strike,”

the Ukrainian Armed Forces said on Telegram.
The attack also hit a petrol station, which continued to burn late into the evening, as well as shops, warehouses, and administrative buildings, all of which were hit.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the deaths in a video address late at night, saying “Russian terror continues day and night on our border and in the frontline areas”.
Zelenskyy said that at a meeting of senior commanders and military industry officials he had discussed missile production in Ukraine and noted that Ukrainian industry had achieved “the necessary results”.
The Swiss government on Wednesday announced plans to hold a high-level conference aimed at bringing peace to Ukraine on 15-16 June at the Bürgenstock resort in the canton of Nidwalden, near Lucerne. However, Russia has indicated that it will not take part in the initiative.
