Bulgaria’s defence ministry has sent a special unit to inspect and deactivate a drone carrying explosives that was found in a Bulgarian Black Sea resort on Sunday evening, the 17th of September, reports Reuters.
Bulgarian Defence Minister Todor Tagarev stated to reporters that there is a strong likelihood that the drone is connected to the war initiated by Russia against Ukraine.

The resort of Tyulenovo is 70 kilometres south of the Romanian border, across the Black Sea from the Crimean Peninsula.
Police cordoned off the area on Sunday evening and restricted public access to the terraces of local restaurants in the town, said Shabla municipality mayor Marian Zhechev, confirming that the drone was found on rocks near moored boats and describing it as
“an aircraft with standard ammunition”.
It remains unclear whether the drone fell from the air or was washed ashore by sea currents. Witnesses reported to Nova.bg that the drone was about three to 3.5 metres long and had a container of explosives attached to it.
Last week, fragments of a drone were found across the border in Romania after a Russian attack on Ukrainian Danube ports. Both Romania and Bulgaria are NATO members.
