Russian forces fired at critical infrastructure in several parts of Ukraine overnight, and at least 17 missiles hit Zaporizhzhia, Reuters reports.
Air raid sirens continued to sound throughout the country on the morning of Friday, the 10th of February, thus urging residents to seek safe shelter, as the risk of new strikes remains. The governor of the Odesa region, Maksym Marchenko, warned local residents that the enemy army was preparing for further strikes.
According to local officials, critical infrastructure was affected in Khmelnitskyi in the west, Kharkiv in the northeast, and around Dnipropetrovsk in the central part of the country.
Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat told television that the Ukrainian Air Force shot down five of the seven drones launched by Russia and five of the six Kaliber missiles. Also, the occupying army has fired 35 S-300 missiles at the Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions, which the Ukrainian forces cannot intercept.
Officials have reported that emergency power outages have been implemented across the country following attacks on infrastructure. The head of the Kyiv military administration, Serhiy Popko, called not to ignore the alarm sirens.
The air alert is expected to be in effect for a long time.
