Russia’s largest arms manufacturer announced on Tuesday, the 19th of September, an increase in production of a range of military equipment, including missiles, drones, combat vehicles and artillery, aimed at supplying the Russian army involved in the conflict in Ukraine, reports Reuters.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a significant increase in production to support Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine, despite Western efforts to supply arms to Ukraine and impose sanctions on Russia.
According to Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Rostec armaments complex, production of various types of weapons has increased two to ten times, and production of various types of hardware has increased “by tens of times”. Ozdoev added that this increase in production
reflected Moscow’s determination to achieve its objectives in Ukraine.
Sergei Chemezov, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, leads Rostec, which is subjected to Western sanctions. Rostec oversees a vast network of 800 Russian entities involved in both civil and defense sectors, making it Russia’s largest arms producer.
