“Rīgas tilti” to continue maintaining capital’s bridges – five-year contract for 45.9 million

The daily maintenance of the capital’s bridges will continue for the next five years, with “Rīgas tilti” winning the contract worth 45.9 million euros, according to information published on the Procurement Monitoring Bureau’s website.

“Rīgas tilti” won the tender for the daily maintenance of bridges, traffic overpasses, and pedestrian tunnels in Riga from 2024 to 2029, which had previously been suspended.

It was reported that in the previous tender, two candidates submitted bids for bridge maintenance, but neither met the requirements of the tender. After a re-tender was issued three months later, both candidates submitted new offers, but the lowest bid was approximately 43% higher than the previous one, while the other candidate’s bid had increased by 14%.

Once again, the competition ended without a result, and a temporary agreement was reached for “Rīgas tilti” to continue the daily maintenance of the bridges. The contract was in effect from the 1st of October of the previous year until a permanent provider is found in the repeated tender for the full five-year period.

According to information published on the Procurement Monitoring Bureau’s website, “Rīgas tilti” was declared the winner of the tender, and will carry out the work for the next five years for a total of 45 875 000 euros.

Previously, “Rīgas tilti” had also submitted an offer for five years at 45.9 million euros.

According to “Firmas.lv,” the company “Rīgas tilti” was established in 1991, with a share capital of 1.5 million euros.

29.73% of the company’s shares are owned by Albins Jasaitis, 26.55% by Mārtiņš Sproģis, and 21.86% by German national Thomas Klaus Hugo Otto Ulička.

In 2023, “Rīgas tilti” reported a turnover of 19.16 million euros and a profit of 580 000 euros.

It has also been reported that the maintenance of Riga’s streets over the next five years will be carried out by the “Roadeks and LAU” consortium, the company “Vizii Urban,” and a consortium including “Eco Baltia vide” and SIA CBF “Ļ-KO,” with a contract worth 293.4 million euros.
