Rain to subside for the weekend, but broad precipitation zone to cross Latvia again next week

Over the weekend, the sky will be partly cloudy. On Saturday, precipitation is expected mainly in the southern part of the country – there will be occasional rain, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

The rain will subside by Sunday night, and the first day of June will pass with dry and sunny weather. On the night to Saturday, the minimum air temperature will range between +10°C and +14°C, while the night to Sunday will be slightly cooler. During the day, temperatures will rise to +16°C…+21°C, although in some coastal areas, where the wind blows from the sea, the maximum temperature will only reach +13°C…+15°C.

During midday and afternoon, with the sun shining, UV radiation levels will be moderately high, so meteorologists advise against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

On Monday, a broad precipitation zone will cross Latvia from the west – rain is expected throughout the country. Rain will also fall over much of the territory on Tuesday. More precipitation is expected in the eastern part of the country, where there is also a possibility of thunderstorms.

On Wednesday morning, another precipitation zone will move over Latvia from the west. In the western part of the country, the rain will subside only by Thursday morning, while in the east it will continue until Thursday evening. Air temperatures will remain similar to those of previous days.
