On Wednesday, skies will clear more in the eastern part of the country, while elsewhere there will be more clouds and occasional showers in some areas. With light winds, morning fog will persist, especially along the coast. Temperatures during the day will rise to +14°C to +19°C, and along the coast up to +8°C to +13°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Thursday, skies will only clear briefly, and many areas will experience short periods of rain. Fog will become dense in some places during the night and morning. A light to moderate northerly wind will continue. Nighttime temperatures will not fall below +4°C, while daytime highs will range from +6°C in the north to +16°C in the south.
Toward the end of the week, colder air will arrive, bringing night temperatures close to or even below 0°C, meaning the first frosts are expected. Frost is forecast for the nights of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. While the sun will appear more frequently over the weekend, light rain is still expected on Saturday. During daylight hours, temperatures will not exceed +10°C to +11°C.
Warmer weather is expected to return next week.
