On Wednesday and during the night into Thursday, rain is expected in central and eastern regions. On Thursday during the day, rain will also reach the western parts of the country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
In some areas during these days, wet snowflakes may also be observed. Northerly winds will continue to blow at a light to moderate strength, reaching gusts of up to 15 m/s along the coast, although winds will subside on Thursday. Nighttime temperatures will range between +1°C and +5°C, but in parts of the country the thermometer may drop to 0°C or even -1°C, so frost is expected. During the day, temperatures will reach +5°C to +10°C.
Toward the end of the week and the beginning of next week, an anticyclone will dominate over the region, bringing mostly sunny weather, although some rain clouds may still appear. Winds will be generally light and calm. Nighttime frost will still be possible in some areas, while daytime temperatures will often hover around +10°C.
