Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Monday, the 28th of April a three-day ceasefire in the war with Ukraine, to be observed next month to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union and its allies in World War II, according to Reuters.
The Kremlin said the 72-hour truce would last from the beginning of 8th of May until the end of the 10th, and Russia called on Ukraine to join it.
If the Ukrainian side violates the ceasefire, the Russian armed forces will provide an “adequate and effective response”, the statement said.
