Annual inflation in Eurozone increased to 5.1% in January 2022 when compared to 5% in December 2021, reaching the highest level since the start of compilation of this data in 1997, according to initial estimates published by Eurostat on Wednesday, 2 February.
Annual inflation was registered in Eurozone for the thirteenth consecutive month.
According to this data, food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco product prices in Eurozone increased by 3.6% in December when compared to the same month a year prior.
Service prices increased 2.4% in January, which indicates an identical rise a month prior.
Prices of industrial goods unrelated to energy sector were 2.3% higher when compared to the 2.9% increase observed in December.
Energy prices increased 28.6% in January and 25.9% in December.
