In the first half of the week the sky in Latvia will be covered in clouds. Precipitation is expected – on Tuesday, the 4th of March, there will be rain mainly in the eastern parts of Latvia. On Wednesday, on the other hand, it will rain in all of Latvia. Wet snow is also possible in eastern territories at night, as reported by Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
As atmospheric pressure rapidly changes, wind speed will go up, reaching 15-17 m/sec in most of the country on Thursday.
Wind speed is expected to be the strongest along the coast – up to 19 m/sec – on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both at night and during the day air temperature is expected to stay within 0° C… +7° C. Air temperature is expected to drop below 0° C in north-eastern parts of the country on the night to Wednesday.
In the second half of the week, however, clouds will gradually disperse and no significant precipitation will come. The wind will calm down, and on some nights there will be fog in some areas around the country. Warmer masses of air will flow to the country, causing daytime air temperature to reach +14° C later this week.
