“Putin is basically the same as Hitler. He has put Russian people in the same trouble Germans were put in by Hitler. He has started a war that will never end. No matter the results we see today, Ukraine will never accept their country’s loss,” LSM.LV reports, referencing the words spoken by historian, politologist and Russian policy expert Kārlis Daukšts in his interview to Latvijas Radio programme “Brīvības bulvāris”.
According to him, Ukraine would be strong enough to liberate their land with stable and united support from the West, but it’s impossible to achieve full consolidation of the West.
“Even if Putin captures all of Ukraine, which he hopes to do, guerrilla warfare will never end, until the last Ukrainian. This is why I believe that this war, though its hottest period may end in a couple of years, can end very soon – with a phone call from Putin,” the historian told the public media.
